چکیده

Concrete structures suffer serious deterioration under a corrosive environment. Consequently, the service life of these concrete is decreased and deteriorates combined attack sulphate chlorides. Most studies confined on single deteriorating factor such as only or chloride but current study focused influence natural pumice (NP) scoria (NS) strength performance exposed to chloride. Portland cement (PLC) was replaced with NP NS at substitution level 10%. samples were cured in water for curing period 28 days. Afterwards, specimens immersed 5% sodium (Na2SO4), (NaCl), solutions additional 28, 56, 90 The results compared between mixes control mix (CT) PLC. effects sulphate, chloride, evaluated terms change weight, variation compressive strength, degree damage. Conclusively, application has extraordinary potential be utilized cementitious material increase resistance against aggressive salts.

Investigation of mechanical and durability properties of lightweight concrete containing Pumice

In this research, the effect of the cement, sand, and pumice mixture on the durability of lightweight concrete is investigated. The intention of this paper is to replace a certain amount of the pumice percentage as an alternative option of the cement and pumice sand aggregate with conventional sand components. The experimental results include compressive strength, ion-chloride emission factor (...

Experimental investigation and prediction of compressive strength of ultra- high performance concrete containing supplementary cementitious materials

Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) has superior mechanical properties and durability to normal strength concrete. However, the high amount of cement, high environmental impact and initial cost are regarded as disadvantages, restricting its wider application. Incorporation of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in UHPC is an effective way to reduce the amount of cement needed while c...

Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Concrete Containing Pumice and Metakaolin

Fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) has been widely used due to its advantages over plain concrete such as high energy absorption, post cracking behaviour, flexural and impact strength and arresting shrinkage cracks. But there is a weak zone between fibers and paste in fiber reinforced concretes and this weak zone is full of porosity, especially in hybrid fiber reinforced concretes. So it is necess...

Experimental investigation of mechanical and dynamic impact properties of high strength cementitious composite containing micro steel and PP fibers

Cementitious composites are one of the most consumed construction materials in the world. The use of cementitious composites is increasing due to their special characteristics. The behavior of high strength cementitious composites is improved by increasing the fiber percentage. In the present paper, the effects of steel microfibers and polypropylene fibers on mechanical properties and impact re...

Effect of Elevated Temperature on the Properties of High-Strength Concrete containing Cement Supplementary Materials

High-strength concrete is a material often used in the construction of high rise buildings. In the case of unexpected fire, the building concrete elements such as columns, slab and walls will be subjected to extreme temperatures. In order to assess the performance of high-rise reinforced concrete members it is important to understand the changes in the concrete properties due to extreme tempera...
